Club Meets Every Tuesday at Village Hall

The Mt. Pleasant Senior Citizen Card Club is a long standing group of residents who love the game of Schafkopf, also called Sheepshead.  They play at Village Hall (6126 Durand Avenue, 554-8750) every Tuesday. Participants play from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the Municipal Court Room just to the left of the entrance into the village hall. Some seniors arrive early between 10:30am to 11:00am to practice.

Usually 4-5 card tables are set up to hold four to five players to a table. Then after a game has finished the players rotate to another table. Refreshments of sweet rolls and coffee are served.  A small donation is made towards purchasing these items.

A Christmas luncheon is also held for the club at the village hall during the month of January.

When Village Hall is unavailable, players are notified and the games are moved to The Masonic Center in Racine (1012 Main Street, 633-6658). The Masonic Center is directly across the street from Gateway Technical College.  Participants can park in the lot next door to the Masonic Center. Once inside the building, take the elevator downstairs to the room where the card games are played.

On every 4th Sunday of the month beginning in September, the club attends a pancake breakfast for seniors from 8am-1pm at the Masonic Center. The breakfast is open to the public. The breakfast costs $6.00 and includes pancakes, French toast stuffed with either apples or cherries, regular French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, orange juice, coffee, tea, and milk.
