Dear Mt. Pleasant Resident:
Concerned about the run-up in taxes and fees in Mount Pleasant?
Well, the Village Board will be setting a budget for the cost of the new village hall/police station on Tuesday, September 29 at a special Village Board meeting.
Anticipated costs are far higher than what the Village told residents in 2007. Click here to find out how much more.
The meeting will be at 7PM at Village Hall, 6126 Durand Avenue.
The architects will present building alternatives with different costs, then the Village Board will discuss and decide how much to spend on the new building. There will be an opportunity for public comments, so you can tell the board how YOU feel about the project. With taxes and fees going up at all levels of government, this is the time to get involved - you can make a difference.
Why you should attend: - Get specifics about the new village hall/police station - is it just right, or more than we need?
- Speak your mind at a time it can make a difference to you
- See how your Village Trustees represent your interests (next election is this coming April)
- This is the last chance you'll get to voice your opinion before the building budget is set in stone.
We want every resident to know about the meeting and to participate if at all possible. So, please help us out. The taxes you save may be your own.

- Attend the meeting on September 29 if you can. Speak out during the public comment period.
- Tell your neighbors and friends who live in Mount Pleasant - and have them spread the word too.
