CAMP Mission Statement PDF Print E-mail

The ongoing mission of this corporation is to advocate for the interests of the residents of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin in the process of local government. The corporation monitors the municipal government and provides effective, factual communication about government actions. It informs residents about the municipality’s current and future plans so they can get involved in issues that affect them if they choose. It assists residents in advocating for themselves when dealing with the municipality. The corporation promotes fiscal responsibility, forthright communication, and ethical conduct by the municipality and its officials, with the goal of securing the most open and efficient government possible for the residents.

As an organization, we hope to benefit the Mount Pleasant community by

Informing residents about topics discussed at public meetings. Residents deserve to know about the actions of the municipality in order to advocate for themselves if they choose. Unless they are aware of what is going on, they lose the opportunity to become involved in issues that affect them.

Informing residents about the municipality’s future plans. These plans often have disproportionate financial and quality of life impacts on small groups of residents. Affected residents deserve to know the facts in advance so they have adequate time to react if they so choose.

Acting as advocates on behalf of residents who ask us for assistance in dealing with the municipality.

Promoting fiscal responsibility by reporting financial plans and results to the general public. With this information, the public can better judge whether the municipality’s spending priorities are in line with their interests.

Promoting forthright and ethical conduct by all public officials and employees, and equitable treatment of all residents in the conduct of public business.

Providing an opportunity for residents to engage in public life in a positive, but resident-focused way.
